Designing a Healthy Kitchen and Bath

When updating, designing and remodeling a kitchen and bath, look for energy-efficient and healthy products like Energy Star appliances, WaterSense faucets, and nonporous, GREENGUARD-certified countertop surfaces such as Cambria Quartz.
Do you know that quartz is given the 2nd highest rating by the NFSA [National Food Sanitation Association] for use in commercial kitchens? Stainless steel is number one. Each of these materials are non-porous making them a great choice for the kitchen and bathroom. Things like meat and fish juices won’t penetrate into the material like with the popular granite countertops – which are very porous. Granite can harbor dangerous bacteria if it isn’t properly maintained.
Quartz also allows us to use nontoxic products and cleansers in our kitchen – vinegar and water, baking soda or other green alternatives instead of harsh cleansers. Quartz also doesn’t require sealants. And Cambria Quartz’s manufacturing process is environmentally responsible as well. A smart, healthy, green choice for today’s kitchens and baths.

  1. The kitchen in the first picture is amazing. I wish I had the space in my house for a kitchen that size. The granite countertops look great!!
