Lighting - Watts Up?

Light fixtures have been referred to as the "jewelry" of a kitchen or bath design but, truth be told, today's lighting is so much more. While lighting can make a major statement and dramatically enhance the overall look of a room, its functionality and energy-efficient operation are key to how well the space works.

In today’s kitchen, for example, under cabinet lighting can illuminate the task at hand and also function as a night-light for the evening hours. Toe kick lighting can provide guidance for aging and physically challenged homeowners. In-cabinet lighting can assist in finding objects in dark corners as well as showcase treasured collectibles. Pendants and overhead lighting can add warmth to a room while illuminating workspaces.

In the bath, scones and overhead lighting add function and beauty while pulling double-duty as night lights. And, LED options in both the bath and the kitchen provide illumination while staying cool and using energy little wattage, offering significant energy and cost savings.

When considering a kitchen or bath remodel, its important to PLAN your lighting needs as part of your project.
